Men and Women
Both men and women benefit from electrolysis for hair removal and advanced electrolysis for skin irregularities.
PCOS and Hirsutism
Electrolysis is highly effective and is a popular choice for women struggling with the symptoms of PCOS.
By targeting the root of the hair follicle, electrolysis for PCOS can help to reduce hair growth, improve self-esteem, and boost confidence in women affected by the condition.
Transgender
If you are looking for a treatment to permanently remove facial and excess body hair as part of your journey, electrolysis is the solution. It's the key to attaining the smooth, hair-free, confident look you desire!
Sensitive Skin
I work with your skin type and sensitivity level to create a treatment plan that includes a comfortable working point where you are at ease and the treatment is effective.
Blonde and Gray Hair
Electrolysis is one of the few hair removal methods that can be effective on blonde or gray hair, which are difficult to target with laser hair removal.
Ingrown Hair
Electrolysis can be an effective solution for people who experience ingrown hairs, as it permanently destroys the hair follicle, preventing the hair from growing back and causing ingrown hairs.
Curly Hair
Curly and/or coarse hair can get stuck underneath the skin and become ingrown hairs (folliculitis), which cause raised bumps (hypertrophy) and lichenification (secondary skin lesion characterized by hyperpigmentation, and/or thickening) of the skin. Attempting to manage these problems by temporary methods such as depilatories, shaving, or tweezing can make them worse, causing scarring or discolored areas.
Electrolysis safely and permanently removes ingrown hairs and the curly, coarse hairs that tend to damage your skin without creating issues that occur with tweezing and other temporary methods of hair removal.
African Americans
If you’ve heard that your skin tone means that you are not a candidate for hair removal treatments, then you need to speak to me. Electrolysis hair removal is a safe and effective option for African Americans looking to permanently remove unwanted hair.
It can be used to remove hair from any part of the body, regardless of hair color or texture, and can be adjusted to suit the individual’s hair density. The latest technology and treatment protocols have made this process safe, convenient, and effective for all skin tones. I look forward to addressing your specific needs.
Athletes
Electrolysis hair removal can be a good option for athletes who are looking for a more permanent solution to hair removal, especially for areas such as the legs, underarms, and bikini area.
Electrolysis Modalities
Galvanic Electrolysis
Galvanic electrolysis is a process used to produce a chemical reaction within the hair follicle, eliminating the hair growth cells.
The electrical current produces a chemical reaction with the salt and water at the base of the hair follicle eliminating the hair growth cells.
Thermolysis Electrolysis
Thermolysis (short-wave or flash) process produces heat to destroy the hair growth cells in the follicle. When this modality is used it heats and destroys the hair growth cells in the follicle.
This modality can be utilized in two ways: (1) the shortwave current is used at a lower intensity and longer timing. (2) the flash method of Thermolysis uses high intensity current for less time in the follicle.
Blended Electrolysis
The Blend method combines galvanic current with the thermolysis current.
The galvanic destroys the hair by chemical decomposition where the Thermolysis heats up the chemical reaction in the follicle destroying hair growth cells.
Enhanced Electrolysis:
Understanding Its Benefits and Function
Many people struggle with skin issues that can negatively affect their confidence. These issues can arise from a variety of factors like aging, UV damage, and medical conditions.
For over a century electrolysis has been a reliable solution for addressing issues such as broken capillaries, spider naevi, and warts. With the advancement of contemporary technology electrolysis has evolved into Enhanced Electrolysis - a straightforward and safe method for eliminating or reducing skin blemishes. So how does Enhanced Electrolysis work?
This procedure uses a Thermolysis current along with an ultra fine needle to cauterize or peel off the superficial layer of the skin (epidermis) depending on the type of blemish being addressed.
Enhanced Electrolysis is effective in reducing or eliminating various skin blemishes such as red veins and spider naevi.
After about three weeks post treatment fading commences and the broken capillaries start to vanish.
While three treatments are usually necessary visible changes can be seen after a single session. Skin tags can also be instantly cauterized and eradicated during this treatment process; leading to small red spots or scabs post treatment which usually vanish within 7 - 10 days.
Advanced Cosmetic Procedures for Skin Irregularities:
Advanced electrolysis, also known as advanced cosmetic electrolysis or advanced electroepilation, is a specialized cosmetic procedure that uses electrical currents to treat various skin conditions, such as skin tags, milia, spider veins, and many other benign skin lesions.
For milia removals:
It might take up to a month for visible results to manifest while typically two sessions scheduled eight weeks apart are necessary to obliterate warts/verrucas.
Seborrheic Keratosis:
is detached and cauterized leading to the appearance of scabs that persist for about two weeks; once healing is complete though the blemish disappears completely too.
Enhanced electrolysis might be just what you need if you have sebaceous cysts but note that their size and location determine their obstinacy hence may require some level of patience from you alongside scheduling multiple sessions depending on your skin goals.
Enhanced Electrolysis:
is a simple and safe method that can help you get rid of various skin blemishes. And while it may take some time to see the expected results depending on the treatment process and blemish type patience is key.
When treating Syringoma:
it may be necessary to have multiple sessions in order to decrease or completely remove the cyst. With the application of current the anomaly will shrink and small crusts and swellings will appear that usually take about two weeks to heal.
The number of sessions required will depend on the size of the treatment area.
For Xanthelasma removal:
The current applied during treatment helps to reduce the size of the anomaly. Small crusts and swellings may appear after treatment but will typically heal within two weeks. Again multiple treatments may be necessary depending on the size of the affected area.
If you're looking to remove age spots:
we detach and cauterize these irregularities resulting in small scabs that typically heal within two weeks.
For mole reduction:
In a single session, we can decrease your moles original size by half which then continues shrinking as a scab forms and falls off but keep in mind that you may need additional treatment.
• While some clients report feeling mild discomfort from electrolysis during their session due to a warm stinging sensation this is generally manageable and not too uncomfortable for most people.
• We always start with a consultation before beginning any enhanced electrolysis procedure that involves asking you some brief questions about your health history so we can better understand your specific situation and create an appropriate treatment plan for you. This ensures that you have all of the information needed before proceeding with treatment while feeling confident about what comes next.
After your procedure with us is complete:
We provide clients with a post treatment cream and detailed instructions for taking care of their skin over subsequent weeks following their appointment.
• We'll also discuss how many treatments are needed as well as how often they should occur so there are no surprises down the line.
During our consultation process:
• We also discuss recovery time frames following procedures which varies depending on what specific blemish is being treated – typically swelling, redness or other symptoms resolve within about two weeks. But results become more noticeable over the coming weeks up to approximately one month after treatment.
Scar Camouflage & Paramedical Services
I am a Paramedical Micropigmentation Specialist. I perform medical tattooing with an aesthetic touch. My mission is to help others feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.
I give cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy a semi-permanent brow that would last them through their treatments. I also can give a natural brow to those with Alopecia. I can cover areas of scarring (nipple and/or areolar, cesarean scar, stretch marks, some burns, medical post-procedure scars, injuries, hypopigmentation issues such as with vitiligo, hair loss on the scalp, improving of lip and brow symmetry, etc.) with the art of implanting pigments within the skin by medical tattooing.
This procedure is used to design, color match, and medically tattoo 3-D areolas and nipples for women after their battle with breast cancer as a final touch to breast reconstruction. This can also be used for imperfection blending. Imperfection blending is used for the camouflaging of minor to major scarring/stretchmarks or to color match areas of skin affected by Vitiligo. I offer inkless (ISR) Scar or Stretchmark Revision using healing serums to stimulate collagen, elastin, and other healing properties within the skin of stretch marks or scars so that the mark is visibly improved as well as with ink.
I invite you to a warm, comforting, and compassionate office, for these client-focused services. Your booking fee is non-refundable. Your booking fee is applied to the balance of your treatment. Your final payment is due at or before the time of service. My booking fee is $100.00
Is Medical Tattooing Permanent?
Medical tattooing is considered a semi-permanent treatment, whilst the results may last years it is common to touch up an area to keep the result looking its best.
Can Medical Tattooing help lighten my scars?
It is very difficult to place lighter pigment into a dark scar and have the results lighten the area effectively. I can perform a test patch on the area for you to see the results before committing to a larger section.
Can Medical Tattooing flatten my scars?
Medical tattooing is the use of pigment applied into the skin to mask and/or blend scarring; this unfortunately will not affect any textural differences throughout the scar.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy [ESWT] is a non-invasive modality for the physiotherapy treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions, primarily those involving connective tissues such as ligaments and tendons. It is performed over the skin and is used for pain reduction, to increase metabolism at the cellular level, revascularization (restoration of the blood supply) and to recover normal muscle tone. ESWT stimulates growth factors and contributes to the release of nitric oxide, promoting anti-inflammatory effects. Common conditions ESWT can treat are: Joint pain, Tennis Elbow, Tendonitis, Osteoarthritis, Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, Hip Bursitis, Shin Splints and Erectile Dysfunction [ED] etc.
ESWT application works by emitting high-energy acoustic waves to specific tissues to induce a safe amount of stress on the tissues to help break up scar tissue, improve circulation, and boost local metabolism. It does this by breaking down tissue via microtrauma(s) thus promoting healing and repair. These pulses of acoustic energy are focused on the target tissues by the handpiece/applicator of the ESWT machine causing localized microtrauma(s) that in turn stimulates the body’s natural healing processes. The shockwaves trigger a stimulating process called angiogenesis or neovascularization (new blood vessels) and neurogenesis (new nerve cells). The microtrauma(s) increase local circulation and enhance the breakdown of calcifications (calcium build-up).
ESWT application is typically just a few minutes and should case no pain. Occasionally, if the area being treated is already painful, some increase in discomfort may be experienced during treatment. The intensity of the shockwaves can be controlled by the therapist.
Contraindications to ESWT are as follows:
- Pregnancy
- Pacemaker
- Active infection over treatment site
- Tumor at or near the treatment site
- If you have received a recent Steroid injection
- If taking oral anticoagulation medication
- Blood Clotting disorders
Cavitation & Radio Frequency Therapy:
Radio Frequency Therapy [RFT] improves lymphatic drainage, repairs stretch marks, firms’ skin and enhances skin elasticity all over the body. RFT provides soothing relief from pain such as joint pain or sciatica, stress and fatigue, by promoting regular mechanical aerobic exercise of the skin tissue. RFT promotes cell metabolism by increasing production of collagen
and elastic fibers.
Ultrasound cavitation is the use of ultrasound technology to break down fat cells below the skin. It is a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and localized fat. Cavitation is offered for body shaping, fat dissolving and cellulite repelling, skin tightening and strengthening of the elasticity, skin rejuvenation and lifting, removing fine wrinkles and smoothing out and shrinking pores. Lymphatic drainage promotes metabolism and blood circulation. Contouring and repair for post-pregnancy and scarring. Face and full body areas such as: thighs, buttocks, back, arms and abdomen, face such as crow’s-feet, under-eye dark circles and puffiness, face wrinkles, etc.
This procedure involves applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The broken-down fat cells go from the body to the liver where they are excreted as waste. Cavitation is a preferred method to other invasive procedures of eliminating body fat.
Ultrasonic cavitation tones the body using radio frequencies and low- frequency ultrasonic waves. These waves form bubbles around fat deposits under the skin. The bubbles then burst, breaking the fat deposits into the interstitial and the lymphatic systems where they are drained. The fat deposits are changed into glycerol and free fatty acids. Glycerol is then reused by the body while free fatty acids travel to the liver and are excreted.
Ultrasonic cavitation is a safe FDA approved procedure. Since the procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime. The destroyed fat cells do not grow back. The results of ultrasonic cavitation can last with continued weight maintenance activities.
